Denture Cream Lawsuit Settlement

A known Poligrip denture cream user, Mr. Rodney Urbanek died at the age of 64. Now, his family is seeking compensation for the damages through a denture cream settlement.

Around 2008, Mr. Urbanek died in a nursing facility located in South Carolina. The cause of death was due to the excessive zinc in the body as reported from an autopsy made. The family is currently filing for a lawsuit against GlaxoSmithKline which is the maker of Poligrip that was used by Mr. Urbanek for about 14 years.

According to Mr. Urbanek’s family, they are claiming that before a paralysis happened, the casualty was very healthy. According to the family’s lawyer, Attorney Ed Blizzard, Rodney’s death which happened around 2008 was caused by difficulty in respiratory functions that sprung from the paralysis that started on his waist and spread through his diaphragm.

Multiple lawsuits have already been filed against makers of popular denture cream brands which are GSK and P&G after a study made by researchers from University of Texas landed in Neurology. The failure to provide sufficient warning regarding health risks of their denture creams were accused amongst these manufacturers. “Rodney’s case is a troubling example of what can happen when manufacturers fail to warn consumers about the risks associated with their products.”, this is what Attorney Blizzard will tell you

In the Southern District of Florida, a bellwether trial is set to happen as early as June this year. This trial will give us a peek on how much a family will received from this denture cream lawsuit settlement and on how similar cases will proceed.
